43-year-old admits two robberies armed with machete

A 43-year-old man has been sent forward to the circuit court on signed pleas of guilty in relation to two robberies when he was armed each time with a machete.
Giedrius Kamarauskas, Castle Manor, Ballymakenny Road, Drogheda, admitted five charges stemming from the incidents which occurred two days apart last year.
He signed pleas of guilty on charges of robbing a male of €280 cash and producing a two-foot-long machete with a red handle while committing a robbery, at Gala, Bolton Street, Drogheda, on 31 October 2021; and of robbing a male of €300 cash, producing the same machete while committing an offence and making a threat to the male to kill or cause him serious harm, at Maxol Filling Station, Duleek Street, on 2 November 2021.
Kamarauskas was remanded on similar bail conditions to Dundalk Circuit Court on 17 May.
Legal aid was granted for a solicitor and barrister.
