‘Under the radar’ Eastern European crime mob busted in classic car raid after hookup with Drogheda feud gangs exposed

CLASSIC cars and Rolex watches were among items seized from a crime gang in raids led by the Criminal Assets Bureau yesterday.
The Irish Sun can reveal the gang — from Eastern Europe — supplied cars to a mob involved in the deadly Drogheda feud.

CAB investigators seized one Tesla electric vehicle, two BMW 2021 IX electric vehicles, two classic cars, €15,000 in cash and high-value Rolex and Cartier watches in the raids.
The crime gang — who had been operating “under the radar” — came to the attention of CAB when they started probing the gangland empire of mob target Owen Maguire.
They discovered the gang was supplying cars to different organised crime groups across Ireland from a base in Kildare.
One investigator told us: “Yesterday’s operation all stems from investigations into those gangs involved in the Drogheda feud.
“The Eastern European gang had been operating for months under the radar but it wasn’t long before their connections to other gangs were quickly established.
“They are a professional outfit who are bringing cars into Ireland.
“They have also been giving cars to crime gangs and they have been used for a wide range of criminal enterprises.
“Eight professional premises — including a solicitor’s and an accountant’s offices — as well as seven private homes were searched in the raids in Kildare, Waterford, Laois and Dublin.
