DARA Calleary and James Lawless have emerged as the frontrunners to replace Robert Troy as Minister of State with the Taoiseach considering an appointment as soon as next week, the Irish Sun understands.
It comes as Green Party Minister Roderic O’Gorman today welcomed Robert Troy’s decision to resign as Minister following the scandal surrounding his failure to properly declare some of his properties.

Westmeath TD Troy stepped down from his role as Minister of State in the Department of Business on Wednesday night following two weeks of controversy surrounding properties that he rents out.
The Fianna Fail TD rents out nine buildings as a landlord but failed to properly register some of his properties with the Dail records.
The Minister later apologised for a series of mistakes relating to his properties but came under intense pressure as stories continued to emerge about his role as a landlord.
While the Taoiseach and Tanaiste continued to stand by Troy, the Green Party were deeply unhappy with the scandal and called for investigations into his property issues.
