A referee and sports administrator who lost a court-approved €2.7m debt deal over his failure to declare a luxury foreign property has resigned from his role with Leinster Rugby.

Tom Colton (46), a former accountant known as “the psychic swindler”, quit following a damning High Court ruling last month which terminated personal insolvency arrangements (PIAs) granted to him and his wife Linda (46).
