
First Lady of Ukraine meets Kate, the Princess of Wales before paying respects to Queen
The First Lady of Ukraine Olena Zelenska has met with Princess Kate before paying her respects to the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky’s wife Olena Zelenska will be attending the Queen’s funeral in London on Monday. Whilst Volodymyr Zelensky will not be in attendance, Ms Zelenska will represent her husband. Ahead of the Queen’s state funeral, Ms Zelenska met with Kate, Princess of Wales.

Kate greeted Olena Zelenska at a special reception hosted by King Charles III at Buckingham Palace on Sunday evening.
Prior to her visit, Ms Zelenska had visited Westminster Hall to see the Queen lying in state.
Ms Zelenska is among the various world leaders, dignitaries and royalty flying into London from across the globe.
Along with other guests, Volodymyr Zelensky’s wife will be hosted by the new monarch of Britain, before they attend the late Queen’s funeral tomorrow.

Emmanuel Macron and wife Brigitte also arrived in London, ahead of the funeral.
The French President and Brigitte are among world leaders who will be attending the Queen’s state funeral on Monday.
Ahead of the reception, hosted by the King and the Queen Consort, the couple, wearing all-black outfits, attended the Queen’s lying in state at Westminster Hall.
King Charles III and Camilla, the Queen Consort are hosting the grand event for visiting leaders at Buckingham Palace this evening.

Queen Elizabeth’s body has been lying in state at the historic Westminster Hall since Wednesday.
Since 5pm on September 14, members of the public have been visiting Westminster Hall to pay their respects to the late monarch.
Many mourners have been queuing overnight, as the wait time exceeded 24 hours at some points.
The Queen’s death, and upcoming funeral, has already drawn hundreds of thousands of people to central London’s streets and parks.
