She is charged with the murder of her five-year-old daughter Thelma Dennany and two-year-old son Mikey Dennany on September 9.

The children suffered serious injuries and died in a car fire in Multyfarnham, Westmeath.

Ms Egar was last week brought to court charged with murder and was remanded in custody until her appearance this week.

Today she appeared before Judge Bernadette Owens by video link and was remanded in custody for a further four weeks.

She is now due to appear before Mullingar District Court on October 27 via video link.

DPP directions are expected to be ready by that date.

Egar previously appeared before Judge Owens at a late special sitting of Mullingar District Court earlier this month, where she did not address the court.

A passerby came across their car engulfed in flames at Lackan, a townland on a rural road linking the villages Multyfarnham and Coole, on September 9.
