Serving prison officer, 37, charged in connection with massive €144k drugs seizure

THIS is the serving prison officer who has been charged in connection with a €144,000 drugs seizure.

Marta Cypara, 37, who works in the prison escort van unit, has been charged with possession with intent to supply cannabis.

The investigation into the drugs seizure is being run by the drugs unit at Tallaght Garda station.

During her appearance at Tallaght District Court, the court was told the cannabis was discovered when officers searched her home at Saggart Hill Mews, Saggart, on September 17.

Cypara was remanded in custody and ordered to appear in court next week.

She has been working for the Irish Prison Service for a number of months.

Her partner, Matausz Kilkowski, 28, has also been charged with the same offence.

Garda Michael Brislane told the court that Ms Cypara was arrested on Saturday and when charged with the drugs offences made no reply.

She was remanded in custody with consent to bail again at the Dublin District Court for the Director of Public Prosecutions’ directions.

Mr Kilkowski was remanded on bail to appear in couty again, in December.19th.
