A DUBLIN man caused a disturbance to his neighbours by jumping up and down on the floorboards so they could not sleep, a court has heard.

Andrew Gray (42) was also screaming and yelling and playing loud music.

Judge David McHugh sentenced Gray to five months in prison.

Gray, of Alder Lodge, Farmleigh Woods in Blanchardstown, admitted public drunkenness and a breach of the peace on June 7, 2020.

Garda Jennifer Greene told Blanchardstown District Court gardaí were called to Farmleigh Woods around 3am after reports of a drunken male.

Gda Greene said Gray was shouting as he entered the apartment block, and was slamming doors and playing loud music. She also said Gray was screaming and yelling, and was jumping on the floor boards so his neighbours could not sleep.

The court heard Gray had 16 previous convictions, and recently received a three-year sentence.

Defence solicitor Terence Hanahoe said Gray had been on and off drugs for a number of years, and had got into trouble when he was taking drugs.

Mr Hanahoe said the defendant was now in custody, and was drug-free.
