Three women who were arrested this week as part of an ongoing investigation into organised criminal activity in Drogheda, Co Louth, have all been released without charge.

Two women, both in their 20s, were arrested on Thursday as part of Operation Stratus, an ongoing investigation into organised criminal activity and the sale and supply of drugs in the Drogheda area.

During the search operation, four addresses were searched in Co Louth and north Dublin.

Two vehicles and suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of €9,000 were also seized. The drugs are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.

A third woman, aged in her 40s, who was arrested yesterday, has also been released without charge.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to all three arrests and gardaí say that investigations are ongoing.
