WEST CORK MURDERER IAN BAILEY

Sophie Toscan du Plantier was murdered on 23.12.96. Ian Bailey has been convicted of her murder. He remains free in Ireland living of the back of hard working Irish people.

IN HIS OWN WORDS: The lies that point to Bailey’s guilt 2

IN HIS OWN WORDS: The lies that point to Bailey’s guilt 2

The original statements by Bailey and Thomas saying where Bailey was 01.00 to 10.00 on 23.12.1996 were false, untrue, dishonest or lies. Take your pick.

Jules Thomas retracted her original claims part way through her interrogations under caution on 10.02.97. Then knowing his false alibi had collapsed Bailey concocted a new one.

His attempts at justifying his original falsehoods, untruths, dishonesty and lies are an insult to our intelligence and Sophie’s family. For Bailey the truth will not set him free but incarcerate him for the rest of his days.

Bailey tries to to justify his false alibi in three ways-

* Minimisation

That the changes he – and Jules – made were a few small inaccuracies or anomalies.

* Memory

That faulty memory and recollection were the cause of the variations.

* Verballing

The Guards added and subtracted from their statements of Jules and Bailey. They “fitted them up”.

However closer inspection shows the excuses of Bailey are hokum.

Minimisation

Ian Bailey wants us and the AGS to believe the following were minor issues:

1.

That both people giving exactly the same false statements in 1996 and repeated them in 1997. Then both completely changing their statement hours later in 1997 = a few small anomalies.

2.

That missing out – going from staying in bed all night to getting up going to the kitchen, going back to bed, getting up and going to the studio and calling the Sunday Tribune = a few inaccuracies.

No Mr Bailey that assertion is another example of your dishonesty. We see a false alibi and substantial changes. So will a Jury.

Memory

On the subject of memory Ian Bailey wants people to believe that the following is normal

1.

Two people forgetting what happened to them on 23.12.1996 just 8 days later on 31.12.1996

2.

The same people have exactly the same false memory. A false memory that provides Bailey with a false alibi, This false memory lasts 6 weeks.

3.

Six weeks later both people concede that their original version of events was false.

4.

For six weeks he had completely forgotten that he actually-

– Got out of bed

– Went to the kitchen

– Worked on an article

– Returned to bed

– Got up and walked 200 metres to the studio

– Worked on the article

– Telephoned the Sunday Tribune

– Walked back to the house

5.

Then six weeks later all these things spontaneously returned just after Jules had told the truth. This from a man who told Nial Boylan in 2021 that he had an eidetic (photographic) memory.

Maybe Bailey can’t see how ridiculous he appears with this drivel. The AGS and the press should see it. A Jury will do so.

Verballing

It will come as no surprise to anyone that his claims of ‘verballing’ of statements are typically vague, evidence free and unfounded.

They are false.

1.

He has been unable to produce a detailed document explaining precisely what the AGS changed and who changed them.  He has not provided a shred of evidence that the 31.12.96 statements were ‘verballed’. NEVER

2.

No one has been charged with this serious offence never mind convicted. NO ONE

3.

When the claims of Bailey have been scrutinised by the McAndrew report 2007, the civil trial lost by Bailey 2015, the Fennelly Commission 2017 and the GSOC report 2018 no evidence of verballing was found. NOTHING

Empty allegations are not facts. Endlessly repeating these allegations does not make them true.

The minimisation, memory and verballing excuses are groundless. The alibi was false. Why did Bailey lie? and why has he sought to cover it up? We know the answers. The French verdict was right. Ian Bailey murdered Sophie Toscan du Plantier.
