Two taxis were seized by gardai at Dublin Airport for not possessing the correct licences.
Officers carried out a checkpoint with the National Transport Authority at Dublin Airport on Monday, and detected two vehicles and drivers operating for hire or reward without the requisite licences to do so.
One of the cars, a Skoda Superb, is a Northern Ireland registered taxi which was operating in the Republic of Ireland without the requisite licence to do so. Gardai said: “Both vehicles were seized with court to follow.”
Last week, gardai from DMR North Central stopped the driver of a black Hyundai after they were seen holding a mobile phone while driving.
Upon stopping, gardai discovered that the driver was on a learner permit, driving unaccompanied and without L-plates. The car’s tax, insurance and NCT were all expired.
