Two people were arrested for allegedly driving horse drawn carriages while intoxicated in Dublin city.
On Saturday, Gardai and officials from Dublin City Council and the Departments of Agriculture and Social Protection carried out multi-agency inspections of horse drawn carriages in the city. They stopped two people driving horse drawn carriages.
Gardai said: “Two arrests were made for intoxicated driving as well as offences under the Control of Horses Act.”

Rogue Horse Drawn Carriage Crashes Into a Car
It comes as there have been several horse deaths in the city in recent months.
In May, two horses had to be put to sleep after separate incidents in Dublin. In the first incident, a horse collapsed and later died on a road in Smithfield.
