Tallaght feud house shooting fear that ‘only matter of time before someone is killed’
The Tallaght feud started over a €1.7million cocaine debt – and the two sides are digging in for a long fight

Gardai fear it is only a matter of time before someone is killed after another feud-linked gun attack.
They believe a shooting on a house in Tallaght, South Dublin, on Monday night is the latest instalment of the increasingly vicious gang war. A source said: “The fear is this is only going one way. It’s getting worse and we do fear someone will be seriously injured or killed if it continues.”
In the latest incident, a man fired a semi-automatic pistol at a house in the Tymon North area of Tallaght. Several shots were discharged but nobody was injured.
The gunman was rammed by a car as he tried to escape on bike and had to flee on foot. A Garda source said: “The suspicion is he was hurt when he was rammed but we will only know once we find him.”
Confirming they are investigating the shooting, a Garda spokesman said: “Three vehicles (one van, one car and an e-bike) were seized by officers and removed from the scene for technical examination. We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.”
The Tallaght feud started over a €1.7million cocaine debt – and the two sides are digging in for a long fight. Just last month, gardai recovered a pistol after two men were rammed off a motorbike in nearby Fortunestown.
A car, believed to have been used to ram the bike. was later discovered burnt out. Gardai suspect the gunmen were on their way to carry out a murder.
The war has already seen multiple incidents – including a pipe bomb being brought into Tallaght Garda Station in May. That month, a grave was also desecrated.
Dublin Live has also established there have been several fist fights between the two gangs – and a number of homes have been petrol bombed. There have been other serious incidents including one in which shots were fired at a man in Tallaght in May – but he escaped injury.
Following that incident, shots were fired at a house in Tallaght – an incident which was filmed on CCTV and the footage spread online. The clip shows the shooter arriving on an electric bike, stopping in front of the house and producing a handgun
The masked figure is seen aiming the weapon at the house before he fired a number of shots. Gardai, including officers from the Armed Support Unit, have mounted a series of raids and searches to disrupt the gangs.
