The older sibling’s girlfriend is living with him in the Gulf but Gardai have monitored her flying over and back to Ireland on a regular basis.

It is understood the two brothers were previously hiding out in Turkey but are now living in Dubai where hated Cartel boss Daniel Kinahan is living.

The pair were linked to slain notorious serial killer Robbie Lawlor and the feud erupted when the brothers stood up to the Traveller gang led by Owen Maguire and the late Cornelius Price who had been running the drugs trade in the north-east.

The brothers got Lawlor to shoot Maguire and subsequently left him paralysed from the waist down. The resulting feud left four people dead.

Lawlor, 36, was involved in the chilling murder of 17 year old Keane Mulready Woods in a crime that shocked the nation after his remains were dismembered and dumped around parts of Dublin.

The teenager was McGuire’s godson and Lawlor was then himself killed. Lawlor’s brother-in-law Richie Carberry also lost his life along with the elder brother’s best friend Keith Brannigan, 29.

It is understood the Kinahans had been supplying the brothers with cocaine before they were forced to flee the country in the Spring of 2020.

A Garda source said: “We are not one bit surprised they have linked up with the Kinahans in Dubai because they have business and family ties.

“The Dubai authorities still don’t know what to do with the Kinahans even though the US Government has put a 5 million dollar price on the heads of Christy Snr, and his sons Daniel and Christy Jnr.

“There are arrest warrants outstanding for these two brothers if they ever return to Ireland.

“They were about to stand trial on serious criminal charges when they did a runner citing death threats against them following the murder of Keane Mulready Woods.

“The truth is they will never be able to come back to Drogheda or their lives will be in danger.”

DUBAI BOLTHOLE

Gang boss Kinahan remains in his Dubai bolthole despite having bank accounts and other assets frozen by authorities in the UAE and massive sanctions imposed against him by the US.

A senior Garda has been posted to the United Arab Emirates as part of the ongoing crackdown on the Kinahan cartel.

The Irish Sun can reveal the Superintendent will be permanently based in the Irish Embassy in Abu Dhabi to coordinate investigations into Daniel Kinahan’s mob and other Irish crime gangs based in the region.

Their role will be to work closely with authorities in the UAE as part of the effort by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau to bring down Kinahan, his brother Christopher, dad Christy, pal Sean McGovern and other senior cartel figures.
