A WOMAN made a terrifying discovery in her bed last week after spotting a snake in the sheets.

The yellow Californian Kingsnake had slithered its way into the unsuspecting woman’s bed in Dublin 8 – and the search is now on for the pet’s owner.

The male snake was brought to a garda station, before being handed over to Shauna’s Pet Shop on Capel Street.

And owner of the shop Shauna Kilduff, is now on a mission to find the owner, who is probably dearly missing their beloved pet.

Shauna said: “We are hoping to reunite this lovely Kingsnake with their owner, he was found in an unsuspecting individual’s bed in Dublin 8 this afternoon!

“He’s had a busy day after trying to have a kip in someone’s bed to only find himself in a Garda station a short while later (he didn’t mean to trespass…) he is now safe with us

She warned: “Shake out your bedsheets tonight folks…”

Proof of ownership will apply to the owner who is hoping to claim back the pet, who has been nicknamed Kevin.

If the scaly creature belongs to you, you can message Shauna’s Pet Shop.

Since August, the California King snake is a restricted breed in Ireland which means pet shops are not allowed to sell them.
