A Dublin businessman has been sent forward for trial accused of possessing almost €100,000 in crime proceeds.
Car dealer Oisin Legaspi (39) with an address in D.18, was initially charged and granted bail in March.
He appeared again at Dublin District Court today to be served with a book of evidence.
He has two charges for possessing proceeds of crime in two south Dublin banks: €27,000 in an AIB account in Ballsbridge in south Dublin on May 17, 2019, and €70,000 in an AIB in Belfield on September 14, 2018.
The charges are under section seven of the Criminal Justice (Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing) Act 2010.
The Director of Public Prosecutions had directed the case to proceed on indictment at a higher level with broader sentencing powers.
Judge Paula Murphy granted a return for trial order, sending the accused forward to the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court, where the case will be listed for mention in October.
There was no objection to bail.
Mr Legaspi was warned that he must notify the prosecution if he intended to use an alibi in his defence. Judge Murphy also ordered gardai to provide copies of interview videos to the defence.
Earlier, the court heard he “made no reply” to the charges put to him after he was brought to the Bridewell Garda station.
He has to obey an order not to associate with three other individuals whose names were not read out during the hearing.
The accused is yet to indicate a plea.
