Horror as two storey home in Longford completely engulfed by raging inferno with probe into fire cause launched

A TWO story house in Longford has been completely gutted after a raging inferno ripped the the property.

The blaze happened at a house in the Ardnacassa area of Longford town at around 8:30pm on Friday night.

Several fire personnel and gardai rushed to the scene after the alarm was raised.

The fire was eventually brought under control as fire crews battled to prevent the blaze from spreading to other properties either side of the affected house.

Shocking photographs show the two storey dwelling was effectively gutted as a result of the raging fire.

No injuries have been reported, but the scene has since been cordoned off as gardai launch an investigation into the exact cause of the blaze.

A spokesperson said: “Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a fire in Longford, which occurred tonight, Friday 15th September 2023 at approximately 8.30pm.

“No serious injuries have been reported at this time. The scene has been preserved for technical examination.

“No further information is available at this time.

“Investigations are ongoing.”
