Far-right figure says he would be justified in killing Leo Varadkar and Micheal Martin
‘If that means beating Leo Varadkar’s skull in with my bare f***ing hands then that is exactly what I’ll do’

A CONSPIRACY theorist who was involved in protests outside Leinster House previously posted a video where he claimed he would be justified in killing the Taoiseach and Tánaiste.
Volatile far-right figure Dara O’Flaherty from Galway posted the disturbing video where said he believed that the actions of the government in issues such as the roll-out of the Covid vaccine meant he could carry out “justifiable homicide”.
“This is what I believe. It is my intent to defend myself and those people connected with me from this atrocious crime and if that means beating Leo Varadkar’s skull in with my bare f***ing hands then that is exactly what I’ll do and then I’m going to Micheal Martin’s house.”
In the unhinged rant he said homicide is justifiable in order to prevent an atrocious crime provided he tries every other means first.
“There’s another example of how we tried every means. We wrote the emails, we made the phone calls we went on the media and we went to their house and at every point we were rebuffed. At every point we were attacked. At every point we were dehumanised and stigmatised, well that’s all we need to justify killing you.”
O’Flaherty is a failed election candidate who was eliminated on the first count in the last general election when he stood in Galway west.
He has previously turned up outside the homes of politicians including the Taoiseach as well as other public figures.
The Taoiseach said this week that he has received credible death threats throughout his political career but it hasn’t put him off staying in politics.
“The first death threat made against me, I was probably only a county councillor at the time so that was a while ago and it wasn’t a credible one,” he said.
“I think we need to have some perspective when it comes to these things. Nobody likes to have a death threat made against them.
“I would not discourage anyone from being involved in politics or being involved in public life because people make idle threats against each other all the time.
“I imagine it happens to journalists and teachers and nurses and business people so I think it’s important that we put that in perspective.
“In terms of credible death threats, there have been one or two and the gardai did deal with them.”
