A few questions on Security and Confidentiality. We now know through Alan Kelly, Labour and from today’s Daily Mail that there was a break-in or an attempted break-in in GSOC yet again. Now the Gardai today used the two words Break-In. We have had the Hutch party and a member of GSOC at the table who has now left Ireland. What lump sum was he paid and a Happy Goodbye thrown in? Whistleblowers must be protected at all times but they must feel now a little Compromised. Sadly now we have reached the mountain peak where people are confused and don’t know who to trust. Watching Crimeline last night, what really startled me was the one photo of an alleged serial shoplifter and the Garda F. said this is the description. Today many replied to this blog stating that the suspect was definitely non national but now we cannot say this because it is deemed racist. We must ask the question when Crimecall ask people for help on their confidential line to solve crime … are the lines compromised and are the people who give information safe and anonymous because many feel the Opposite.
