30th September, war fatigue and winter approaching, Ukraine is fading into an insignificance of daily attrocities by the Russian Federation invasion. The video about Babyn Yar 82 years ago will shake you to your very core of being. We must awaken our awareness, our involvement, our impatience with the movement of migrants into other countries in Europe and the social problems that ensue. Ecocide is supposed to be a major crisis. Greta Thunberg created a global recognition of the damage of fossil fuels but what is happening in this war in Ukraine. Landmines are dangerous now but also in the future. Recommend Al Jazeera link (7 months ago) below about the environment. Yet our young people are concerned with climate change protests and throwing paint at paintings in National Art Galleries and are not acknowledging the need for anti-war discussion especially when these wars have a direct impact on our environment at a global level. Education is falling behind in informing people about the costs of this war which is a proxy war Russia v US NATO EU with the underlying apprehension of the US in the battle of China for position No 1 in the world.

It has been 82 years since Nazi occupiers committed their most heinous crime on the territory of Ukraine. Babyn Yar is one of a number of Holocaust memorial sites in Ukraine. During the Nazi occupation, more than 100,000 Jews, Roma, and Ukrainians were murdered here.

Slovak volunteers  collected 650,000 euros for the Bozena-5 demining machine for Ukraine. These machines are already in use in Ukraine. They are demining the Kharkiv and Kherson regions. Their feature is that they are remotely controlled and can clear an area of up to 9 km/h.

Soviet communism’s main legacy seems to be the collective trauma it has caused. Ukrainians endured it, while Russians often deflect by oppressing other ethnic groups instead. Does that look a little familiar to what is happening now?

Clearing those explosives is a massive and complicated task, but two young Americans are working on a technological advancement that could make it easier. Special correspondent Jack Hewson reports with the support of the Pulitzer Center.

Hypocrisy as the young people make their voices heard about Ecocide.  Greta Thunberg is a name known to all but does she and her followers have to say to this reality in Ukraine.  There are no anti-war marches along side the war against fossil fuels.  We are seeking alternatives to fossil fuels towards a green culture but this war is a major attrocity for years going forward.
7 months ago this video was produced and released. Where are the people who are seeking a peaceful resolution? Climate Change is global yet wars are on the increase.

Missiles and mortars kill and maim people, but Russia’s year-long war in Ukraine is also poisoning the air, ground and sea, says Ukraine’s minister of environmental protection, who is building a case that Russia should pay for its ecological “crimes.” Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has caused a large amount of warming gases to be released into the atmosphere. The energy challenge that the Russia’s war in Ukraine has bred in developing countries has intensified global discussions about climate justice.
