A young woman who shoplifted tubs of Sudocrem and a bottle of alcohol has been told to pay compensation for the goods.
Elysia Drew (23) drove away from the supermarket but was caught when her car was seen on CCTV, a court was told.
Judge Bryan Smyth adjourned the case for the accused to repay the €54 value of the property to the north Dublin store.
Drew, with an address at Kildonan Road, Finglas pleaded guilty to theft in the incident on June 20 this year.
SuperValu
Dublin District Court heard she went to SuperValu, Sutton Cross on the day. She placed a bottle of alcohol and three tubs of Sudocrem into a bag she was carrying and left without making any attempt to pay for the items.
She left the store in a car that was seen on CCTV and found to be registered to her, a garda said. The court heard Drew had a previous conviction.
Defence solicitor Yvonne Bambury said the accused would need time to pay compensation.
Judge Smyth put the case back to a date in October, for finalisation. Drew was remanded on continuing bail. The charge against her was under the Theft and Fraud Offences Act.
