Thomas ‘Bomber’ Kavanagh ‘planned’ 7 murders of the Kinahan cartel including his

cousins
April 4, 2022 Ireland UP DATED BY WATCHROOT OCTOBER 2023.

Jailed ‘Godfather’ Thomas ‘Bomber’ Kavanagh is suspected of being involved in a total of SEVEN Kinahan cartel murders, including two of his own cousins, The Sunday World is able to reveal.
he veteran mob boss – who was sentenced to 21 years in prison in a British court this week – is suspected of playing a key role in masterminding the murders of Noel “Duck Egg” Kirwan, Trevor O’Neill and Martin O’Rourke . All three murders were carried out by hitmen linked to the Byrne Organized Crime Group – led by “Bomber”.
He is also believed to have sanctioned the attacks on his own cousins, Paul and Gerard ‘Hatchet’ Kavanagh, who were then shot dead by gunmen from the Kinahan cartel.
Both Trevor O’Neill and Martin O’Rourke were not involved in crime and were collateral damage when “Bomber” and his boss Daniel Kinahan were at war on the streets of Dublin.
The UK-based crime boss is also believed to have supplied weapons for two other killings linked to the Hutch-Kinahan feud.
Bomber is said to have arranged the delivery of arms to the killers of Derek Coakley Hutch – a nephew of Gerry “the Monk” Hutch – and Jason “Buda” Molyneux. The two Hutch employees were shot dead in a “side feud” by criminals given guns and logistical support through Bomber’s network.
And the Sunday World is also able to reveal Bomber’s drug operation was preparing for massive shipments from Europe just ONE day after the funeral of his brother-in-law David Byrne, who was shot dead at the Regency Hotel.
Twenty-four hours after the “godfather” was mourning at St Nicholas & Myra Church, Frances Street, Dublin 8, his lieutenant Daniel Canning rented a new building in Britain where drugs and arms were to be shipped for onward transport throughout England and Ireland .
Over the weeks and months that followed, he devised a complex import-export plan, using modified machinery, legitimate carriers and suppliers, and setting up shadow companies to hide his network. But he also found time to kill.
The speed with which Kavanagh returned to business in the days following the murder of his wife Joanne’s brother is a testament to his cold and calculated approach to the underworld he ruled with an iron fist for decades.
From his British base, Gardaí believe he ordered several murders, planned assassinations and even provided weapons for others to kill.

The murders of homeless man Martin O’Rourke and tourist Trevor O’Neill, both shot in cases of mistaken identity, and the murder of Noel ‘Duck Egg’ Kirwan, the monk’s old pal, are suspected to have been at his orders to have been executed. while also taking a leading role in the plot to kill James ‘Mago’ Gately, which spectacularly backfired. The blood bond between ‘Bomber’ and Daniel Kinahan was cemented the day David Byrne caught a bullet meant for the mafia boss during a boxing weigh-in. But they had already forged a grueling relationship two years ago when Kinahan came to him with “information” that his cousin Gerard “Hatchet” Kavanagh was planning to kidnap one of Bomber’s children and hold her for €1 million ransom. Although no evidence of such a conspiracy has ever been found, officials believe that Kavanagh gave Kinahan permission to kill Hatchet in Spain and later murder his younger brother Paul in Dublin. When the bloody Hutch-Kinahan feud erupted, they came together and, like chess players, planned their moves and decided who would survive and who would die. The fear he instilled in others was Thomas “Bomber” Kavanagh’s greatest power, and he has fine-tuned his theater of terror as a master gunsmith and cold decision-maker. Those who worked with him knew that they should only speak when spoken to, and that they should always be wary of the wild temper that rose in him. When the mighty fists came, they showed no mercy and only the dumbest tried to intervene. Close Daniel Kinahan and Thomas Kavanagh He kept collections of guns – like those found by Britain’s National Crime Agency (NCA) between the bedside table and the bed in his Tamworth master suite – and never hesitated to use them. He regularly staggered or terrorized those who disobeyed his orders, mishandled his money, or slipped up in any way. Threats, torture, and beatings should all be used to exercise power and control, and most importantly, everyone should know their place. In Ireland and the United Kingdom he had a clear structure under him, with each lieutenant having a detailed role and responsibility for logistics, arms, drug dealing or enforcement. Mistakes in all areas resulted in severe penalties. Close Gerard “Hatchet” Kavanagh Everyone in its ranks was violently controlled, and even more mature lieutenants, including former auto dealer Lee Cullen and the notorious Graham “the Wig” Whelan, were routinely beaten for deviance. Cullen was beaten so brutally several times – once with a wheel wrench – that he was hospitalized with his injuries. While enjoying his power, “Bomber” felt a touch of panic after being arrested in prison in the UK, where he was charged with a pink stun gun found at his Birmingham home during a raid linked to the larger one minor conviction served case under investigation by the NCA. It was Gardaí who broke through into Operation Bomber when they raided his weapons headquarters in Dublin in January 2017 and seized an arsenal of weapons and a very important document. Close CCTV footage of “Hatchet Kavanagh” being shot dead in Spain Kavanagh was unaware that the document, a transport company bill of lading in Britain, was being followed up by intuitive officers at Garda’s Drugs and Organized Crime Bureau. It led to a legitimate British company, unaware that it was transporting drugs and cash for Kavanagh’s network, and in turn led to a huge investigation known as Operation Hornstay, a finely tuned undercover police force running the chain of command in his carefully assembled the group. Snapshots of what happened during the worst months of the Kinahan-Hutch feud reveal that Kavanagh focused on two things; revenge and money. In November, Kavanagh, his father-in-law Jaws Byrne, his sidekick Declan Brady aka Mr Nobody, and Daniel Canning celebrated in New York when their first drug shipment got through. Four more multi-million euro shipments landed safely by December. Kavanagh partied hard and threw a big party at the Hyatt Hotel in Birmingham and weeks later, Noel ‘Duck Egg’ Kirwan, the monk’s old pal, was shot dead in a morbid final year-end to add to Dublin’s killings. However, on 2 October 2017, a shipment intercepted in Dover led Bomber to the dock at Ipswich Crown Court and a massive 21-year sentence for his crimes.
