Two men (20s) hospitalised after alleged assault in Kilkenny

Two men in their 20s have been hospitalised after an alleged assault in Kilkenny early this morning.

The men were taken to St Luke’s Hospital Kilkenny and Waterford University Hospital after the incident which is said to have happened in Ardboy in Kilkenny at 7am today.

Gardaí say one of the men is being treated for serious injuries in St Luke’s Hospital Kilkenny while the other is receiving treatment for non life threatening injuries in Waterford University Hospital.

While no arrests have been made, Gardaí are now appealing to anyone who may have information to come forward.

Gardaí are looking to speak to anyone who was in the Ardboy area of Kilkenny between 6.45am and 7.20am and may have witnessed something.

They are also appealing to those who might have video footage in relation to the incident to contact Kilkenny Garda Station.

In a statement, Garda said they are “appealing for information following an alleged assault on two men which occurred at around 7am on Tuesday, 10th October 2023 at Ardboy in Kilkenny.”

“Gardai in Kilkenny are appealing to anyone with information or video footage regarding this incident to come forward. In particular, anyone who was in the Ardboy area of Kilkenny between 6.45am and 7.20am and who may have witnessed anything is asked to contact Kilkenny Garda Station,” the statement said.

Investigations are ongoing.
