During a dramatic manhunt to catch killer Yousef Palani before he struck again, armed gardaí rushed to the homes of five potential victims — including married men — to “ensure they were alive”.

Palani murdered Aidan Moffitt and Michael Snee in Sligo in April 2022, and carried out a violent assault on Anthony Burke during a four-day spree of violence. His motivation was “hostility and prejudice” towards gay men, his sentencing hearing heard last week.
