Teen boy suffers serious injuries after Halloween night assault in Sligo

Gardaí are investigating a serious assault on teenage boy in Sligo town on Halloween night.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:10pm outside a petrol station on the Mailcoach road on Tuesay.

The boy was taken to Sligo University Hospital with serious injuries.

He was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital where he is currently continuing to receive treatment.

The scene remains preserved for technical examination this morning and an investigation is continuing at Sligo Garda station, a garda spokesperson said.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to the assault to come forward.

Anyone with video footage of this incident are asked to make it available to Gardaí, as are any road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling on the Mailcoach road between 6:45pm and 7:15pm.
