Former Ireland hockey player Catriona Carey has been put off the road for four years after withdrawing her driving ban appeal.

Ms Carey had initially indicated she was contesting the ban in full at Kilkenny Circuit Court this morning.

However, barrister Kevin Roche BL later informed Judge Sinéad Ní Chúlacháin that Ms Carey was withdrawing. The ban will now come into effect today.
