Josephine’s disappearance was upgraded to a murder inquiry three years ago.

The annual remembrance event for Josephine took place this morning at the Missing Persons Memorial on the grounds of Kilkenny Castle.

Among those who attended the remembrance were the Mayor of Kilkenny, Joe Malone, Parish Priest Fr Willie Purcell and TD John McGuiness.

Every year on the anniversary, members of Josephine’s family, and the family and friends of other missing people gather at the monument to pray for new information regarding the disappearances.

And in hopes that JoJo and other missing people are not forgotten and the search for them will continue.

Local Carlow Kilkenny TD John McGuinness stated this event is crucial as it reminds everyone to keep looking for JoJo and other missing people as he believes that there is not enough focus put on missing people in Ireland.

He said: “This gives the opportunity as with the other anniversaries of other missing people to focus on all of the missing persons and I do not think we do enough in Ireland to constantly put the images before the general public whether they be on milk cartoons, on leaflets, or news articles.

‘NOT ENOUGH’ FOCUS ON MISSING PEOPLE

“Documentaries help and there is a documentary on next weekend which will focus on the missing women from Ireland’s Vanishing Triangle.

“But there is a need for far more focus on missing persons.”

The ‘Six Silent Killings’ documentary will air this Sunday on Sky and will explore the cases of the missing people.

Before the Justice Committee this week, he also spoke about Josephine’s case and urged that the focus needs to continue for all missing people to get answers about their disappearances.

He added: “At the justice committee this week, which was attended by Commissioner Drew Harris, I raised the issue of missing persons and in particular, JoJo Dullard and I asked that there be a continued focus on that case.

“There is a need for a re-creation of the whole investigation process just to bring it before the public’s attention again, and to appeal for any information that anyone might have to help bring the case forward.”

“I believe that JoJo Dullard is really the face of all the missing persons, as is that monument in Kilkenny Castle.

“The investigation should be made far more public and perhaps there should be further public attention drawn to the investigation.
