Gardaí launch investigation after computer shop is firebombed

Computer shop in Carlow town is firebombed

A Carlow business has fallen victim to an attempted firebomb attack.
WE FIX IT Carlow Computer Specialists, who are based on Staplestown Road in Carlow, caught two individuals on a CCTV camera throw what appears to be a firebomb at the shop.
The CCTV footage, which was posted on the WE FIX IT (PC SOS) Facebook page, shows the front of the shop going up in flames and the two perpetrators fleeing the scene.

According to the footage the attack appears to happen in the early hours of the morning at 12.30am, on Friday November 10.
Maciej Jaroszczak, the owner of the shop, said that it was a scary experience but he is grateful that the damage was mostly to the outside of the shop.

“I was lucky the petrol bomb was not thrown inside the shop. The first guy broke the glass to the outside of my shop and the second guy then tried to throw the petrol bomb through the broken glass to inside the shop. But he didn’t manage to get the petrol bomb inside.
“Luckily only the outside of my shop is burnt. There was some damage to the inside as one big TV was broken and so were two monitors.”

In a statement to the Irish Independent, gardaí have confirmed that they responded to reports of an incident of criminal damage at a business premises in Carlow town on the morning of Friday, November 10.
There have been no arrests at this time, however investigations are ongoing.
