A MAN who describes himself as a poet has been charged in connection with a shooting at a property on Dublin’s northside.
Ian Maloney, 36, from Cashel Road in Crumlin, south Dublin, appeared at Dublin District Court on Wednesday morning.

He appeared in court after he was arrested by detectives from Sundrive Road Garda station in Crumlin on Tuesday.
Maloney was arrested after agreeing to meet detectives by appointment.
The Crumlin man has been charged with having a firearm with intent to endanger life or cause serious injury to property at Downpatrick Road in Crumlin on February 10, 2022.
He has also been charged with reckless discharge of a firearm on the same night.
On that occasion, seven shots were allegedly fired at the property.
Maloney was remanded in custody following the appearance.
The Garda investigation into the case is being run by Det Garda Ian Ward and Det Sgt Brendan O’Halloran from Sundrive Road Garda station.
And he has also been accused of threatening and abusive behaviour in the Beechfield Park area of the capital in January 2021.
During his appearance in court, he was also accused of driving with no insurance, having no driving licence and driving without reasonable care at different dates in 2021.
The accused man was due to make an application for bail but the case had not been called.
Before his arrest, he had posted on social media how he intended to publish a book of poems and for the proceeds to be given to charity.
In posts on social media, he said: “I hope the poems can raise funds for Crumlin Children’s Hospital.”
