Several vehicles including garda cars, buses and a luas have been set on fire in Dublin city centre.
On a night of utter chaos, protesters ran riot in the capital.

They targeted gardaí and breached a cordon which had been set by officers carrying out a forensic examination of the scene where three children and a woman were stabbed earlier on Thursday.
Crowds started to gather near Parnell Street in the hours after news of the knife attack broke.
Pictures show a garda car on fire as the situation escalated.

The mob then moved up O’Connell Street where they smashed shop windows.

A Luas was set on fire as were a number of other cars.

Riot police tried to restore calm. It is not clear if any arrests have been made.

A number of businesses on O’Connell Street have been looted and windows have been smashed during ongoing unrest.
The shutters of one business were forcefully lifted as people emerged holding stock.

Frontline Gardaí backed up by Public Order Units are deployed in large numbers in Dublin City Centre and Gardaí are advising members of the public to avoid the North City Centre at this time due to the riots.
