Shock footage shows horror moment knife wielding man threatens staff in Irish supermarket as Gardai launch investigation

SHOCKING footage circulating online shows a man wielding a knife entering an Irish supermarket and threatening staff.
The incident occurred at an Aldi store in Ashtown, Dublin 15, yesterday evening.


Gardai were alerted to the scene shortly after 9pm after reports of a man displaying threatening behaviour in the popular supermarket.
It is understood a staff member was threatened at knife point by the customer.
After a brief exchange the man left the premises empty handed.
Footage of the incident shows the man entering the store and beginning to shout at a staff member.
The staff member then jumps back after the man takes out what appears to be a large knife.
An exchange of words continues further into the store before the video ends.
Thankfully, no one was physically harmed in the course of the incident.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Shortly after 9pm on Friday, 24th November 2023, Gardaí at Cabra were alerted following reports of an altercation at a supermarket in Ashtown, Dublin 15.
