A children’s care home worker has been charged with sexual activity with a child.

Johnny Ritchie (29), of Glenburn Park in Magherafelt, is alleged to have sexually assaulted his victim five times by touching on dates in 2018 and 2019.

He is yet to enter pleas.

The case was adjourned until the new year after a hearing earlier this month.

When we called to his door, Ritchie did not want to comment.

Sources said he previously worked in a children’s home.

The Northern Health and Social Care Trust declined to comment, but Ritchie is understood to have been an agency worker.
