Two men have been arrested in connection with ongoing investigations into drug-related intimidation in Dublin.

Both men, one aged in his 40s and the other in his 50s, were arrested in a border county yesterday and taken to a Garda station in the North Dublin area to be charged.

They are due to appear before District Court No 4 of the Criminal Courts of Justice (CCJ) this morning at approximately 10.30am.

They were arrested as part of investigations carried out under Operation Fógra, the Garda response in the DMR to Drug Related Intimidation (DRI).

Operation Fógra was launched to combat drug related intimidation which gardai say has been identified as a major source of community harm and fear in Dublin “and is a sinister motive for various forms of criminality”

The operation has two underpinning pillars, including a harm reduction victim centred approach and information enabled policing informing operational responses.

The objectives of Operation Fógra, gardai says, are to support communities, increase frontline awareness of DRI and enhance collaboration.
