Police in Portugal investigated financial transactions drawn on a bank account they suspect is linked to jailed former lawyer Michael Lynn.

The solicitor turned Celtic Tiger property developer was convicted on Wednesday of stealing €17.9m from six Irish banks by obtaining multiple mortgages on the same property.
