A horrific video remains online which allegedly shows 26-year-old Tristan Sherry lying on the ground covered in blood moments before he died in Blanchardstown on Christmas Eve.

Gardaí have reportedly appealed to social media companies, including X, to remove the footage in question.

The move comes as a fundraiser to raise costs for the dead man’s funeral has been closed down.

Sherry opened fire on a well known West Dublin criminal gang and subsequently died after being beaten and stabbed 27 times at Browne’s Steakhouse.

“An Garda Síochána is aware of videos of the incident and immediate aftermath which are in circulation on social media and messaging apps. We are appealing to the public for these videos not to be further distributed,” a statement from the Garda Press Office said this afternoon.

The fundraiser which was allegedly set up by the gunman’s mother to cover the cost of his funeral has been removed from the GoFundMe website. The company stated today:

“It has been closed by the organiser.”

The deceased’s mother had apparently urged for donations when she wrote “Hi my name is Marey Hand and my son was murdered on Christmas Eve, his name was Tristan Sherry. We made this to raise money for his funeral cost in this difficult time. We are absolutely heartbroken that this has happened.”

“He was well known for his love of motorcycles and was loved by many. He was an amazing Son, Brother, Father and Friend. We can’t believe life has to go on without him,” she added.

The fundraiser had received at least 35 donations, totalling €620, before it was taken down with an overall aim of achieving €7,000.
