Prison officer arrested after ‘drinking pints at lunch before jail crash’

A prison officer has been arrested after allegedly drinking pints on his lunch break and then crashing a car into a wall outside a Dublin jail.

Gardaí are investigating the single-car incident that happened at the Cloverhill and Wheatfield campus on St Stephen’s Day.
