Trial for woman accused handling money which was the proceeds of criminal conduct

A young woman accused of handling money which was the proceeds of criminal conduct has been sent forward for trial.
Lily Lawlor (25) was served with the book of evidence when she appeared on bail before Blanchardstown District Court.
The accused, with an address at City Park House, Sullivan’s Quay, Cork city, is charged with handling money within the State which was the proceeds of criminal conduct on dates between October 27, 2020, and January 5, 2021.
Ms Lawlor is also charged with handling money which she knew to be stolen or was reckless as to whether it was stolen on the same dates.
A State solicitor said that the book of evidence was ready and had been served on the accused, who goes forward to the next sittings of Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.
Judge David McHugh gave Ms Lawlor the formal alibi caution.
The judge also assigned defence solicitor Valerie Buckley and one junior counsel on free legal aid.
Judge McHugh further ordered that a video copy of an interview which gardaí conducted with the accused be provided to her lawyers.
Ms Lawlor has not yet indicated a plea to the charges.
She was remanded, on the same bail conditions, to appear before a court in the Criminal Courts of Justice later this month.
