Debbie Lawrence has been at her wits’ end with O’Connell Street for some time — long before last November’s riots and even before a man was chased into her casino by two others wielding a machete.
Last April, she began cataloguing the cases of violence and anti-social behaviour her security team deal with. Ms Lawrence is chief executive of the Carlton Entertainment Group. It owns the Carlton Casino on O’Connell Street, previously known as Dr Quirkey’s Good Time Emporium, and the private members’ casino club next door.
