Gardaí investigate after man’s body found on Dublin city centre street

Gardaí are investigating following the discovery of a body in Dublin city centre this morning.
The body of a man was found across from the post office on St Andrew’s Street.
It is believed that the body may have been that of a homeless person, and further enquiries are ongoing.
A Garda spokeswoman said: “Gardaí in Pearse Street were alerted to the body of a male discovered in the early hours of this morning Tuesday 9th January, 2024 on St. Andrew’s Street, Dublin 2.”
The scene has been preserved and investigations are ongoing, a spokeswoman added.
