Penneys shopper stole due to ‘time pressure’, court hears

A shopper who forgot to pay for cosmetics, then left the store because she was under “time pressure” has been spared a theft conviction.

Leanne Freeman (36) ­returned to pay when she realised her ­mistake, but then saw the “long queue” and foolishly decided to leave, her defence said.
