A MAN has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged assault in Kerry over the weekend.
A woman in her 40s is in serious condition in hospital after suffering stab wounds at a house in Ardfert, Co Kerry in the early hours of Saturday.

The incident is alleged to have taken place at approximately 7:30am on Saturday.
Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene after the alarm was raised.
The victim was brought to University Hospital Kerry, where she remains in serious, but stable, condition.
A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene and is being held at a Garda station in Kerry.
He has been charged in relation to the incident and is due to appear before Mallow District court tomorrow.
A technical examination conducted by forensic officers was carried out on last night.
A spokesperson said: “Gardaí are investigating a serious assault that occurred at a residence in Ardfert, Co. Kerry at approximately 7:30am on Saturday 13th January 2024.
“A female in her 40s was conveyed to University Hospital Kerry, where her condition is described as serious but stable.
“A male in his 40s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in the Kerry division. He has been charged and is due to appear before Mallow District court tomorrow morning, Monday 15th January 2024.
“A technical examination was conducted by Garda scenes of crime officers yesterday and concluded late last night.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
