A recruitment agency worker accused of stealing more than €25,000 from company accounts in a series of unauthorised transactions has been sent for trial.

Eimear Barron (52) allegedly carried out “numerous” transactions over a period of more than two years.

A book of evidence was served on her when she appeared in Dublin District Court.

Judge John O’Leary sent her forward for trial to Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

Ms Barron, of Ridgewood Close, Swords, was charged with 41 counts of theft from two Dublin-based companies.

She was alleged to have stolen in excess of €21,000 in 35 transactions from Crewlink Ireland Ltd and more than €4,000 in six thefts from a contractor, Workforce International Contractors Ltd.

The DPP had consented to the case being dealt with in the district court but a judge had ruled the allegations were too serious and refused jurisdiction.

At that earlier jurisdiction hearing, the court was told a representative of Workforce International at Grange Parade, Baldoyle, made a statement alleging a former employee, the accused, made a series of unauthorised transactions from a company account to her personal account.

There were “numerous transactions” between February 2019 and November 2021.

And it was alleged nobody gave the accused permission to take the funds from the accounts.

Supporting documentation was provided.

The accused had been co-operative with the investigation.
