Dublin Bus drivers will be postponing the planned withdrawal of services in south Dublin as Gardai are set to patrol the route.
Bus drivers had previously announced that the number 13 bus would stop serving the Bawnogue area in Clondalkin after 6pm after antisocial behaviour had reached a boiling point. The buses were going to skip the estates and continue their route down Nangor Road before terminating at Grange Castle.
Earlier this week, Independent Councillor Francis Timmons announced that Gardai were set to patrol the route to curb incidents threatening the safety of the passengers and drivers. Now, local Fianna Fail councillor Trevor Gilligan said the buses will be operating as normal. He said on Twitter: “Drivers have postponed the planned withdrawal and are willing to see if the Garda plan to police the area will work.”
