Youth arrested & charged as cash, drugs, & motorbikes seized after ‘extensive criminal damage’ to public plaza

A YOUTH has been arrested and charged after cash, drugs, and motorbikes were seized.
The seizures were made as part of a raid on a property following “extensive criminal damage” at a public plaza in Dublin yesterday.


The youngster was lifted after cops carried out a search of a property in Ballymun today as part of their probe.
Extensive criminal damage was carried out at the main public plaza in Ballymun yesterday afternoon between 3pm and 6pm.
As part of their investigation, cops obtained a search warrant today for a residence in Ballymun.
During the course of the raid on the house a sum of cash and a quantity of crack cocaine was seized.
A motorcycle believed to be one of the vehicles involved in the criminal damage incident at the public plaze was also removed.
The juvenile was arrested and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
He has since been charged and is due to appear before Dublin Children’s Court tomorrow morning.
Gardai also subsequently seized a motorcycle – which is believed to be stolen – along with a quad bike.
A spokesperson said: “Gardai in Ballymun have arrested and charged a juvenile in relation to extensive criminal damage that was carried out at the main public plaza in Ballymun on the afternoon of Tuesday 23rd January, 2024 between 3pm and 6pm.
“Gardai carried out an extensive investigation and obtained a search warrant which was executed this afternoon Wednesday 24th January, 2024 at a residence in Ballymun.
“During the course of the search a sum of cash and a quantity of crack cocaine was seized along with a motorcycle believed to be one of the vehicles involved in the incident.
“The juvenile was arrested and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 and has since been charged.
“He is due to appear before Dublin Children’s Court tomorrow morning, Thursday 25th January 2024 at 10:30am.
“A motorcycle and quad bike were subsequently seized by Gardaí in Ballymun this afternoon. The motorbike is believed to be stolen.
“Investigations ongoing.
