Man (30s) arrested after gardai seize heroin worth €300k in raid on Dublin City apartment

A man has been arrested in Dublin City Centre this afternoon after heroin worth an estimated €300,000 was discovered by gardai during a raid on an apartment.
The man in his 30s is currently being quizzed at a Garda station in the Dublin region following the seizure made by gardaí attached to the Bridewell Garda Station.
“Officers conducted a search of an apartment under warrant this morning in the Smithfield area and seized heroin worth in excess of €300,000,” gardai said.
“Additionally, a quantity of suspected cocaine and items related to the street supply of illegal drugs were seized during the operation.”
Gardai added that the search was conducted by uniformed officers attached to the Bridewell Garda Station as part of a local operation targeting street crime.
“An adult male (30s) was arrested in connection with the seizure and is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda Station in the Dublin Region,” gardai added.
“The seized drugs will now be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for analysis.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
