A man who screamed profanities at hotel staff after he was escorted off the premises was so drunk he had “no recollection” of the incident afterwards, a court has heard.
Nikodem Osinski (27) could also not remember getting bail at a garda station after his arrest and later failed to appear in court.
Judge Shalom Binchy gave him a one-month suspended sentence and fined him €100.
Osinski, with an address at Camcor Park, Scurragh, Birr, Co Offaly, pleaded guilty to public intoxication, threatening, abusive and insulting behaviour and failing to appear in court.
Dublin District Court heard gardaí found him staggering in front of a hotel on the North Circular Road in Dublin at 5.55am on July 3 last year. He had been escorted from the premises and was screaming profanities at staff.
He also told gardaí to “f**k off” and was arrested. Osinski had previous convictions.
The accused had “absolutely no recollection” of the incident, his solicitor Tracy Horan said.
He had been “drinking an awful lot” after breaking up with his girlfriend and the last year had been “an absolute blur to him”.
He was so intoxicated on the night, he did not recall that he had been given bail at the garda station, she said.
“I’m very sorry, judge, that’s all I can say, I can’t remember it,” the accused said.
Judge Binchy suspended a one-month sentence for a year.
