Corrupt cop John ‘Spud’ Murphy intervened in a property dispute between a financier and a suspected criminal and allegedly asked for £5,000 for himself and £5,000 for a serving officer, police investigating him for corruption have been told.
The disgraced former Garda Superintendent who is currently serving a jail term after he was caught with over a quarter of a million euro worth of cannabis will be asked about that and a number of other allegations involving dirty money.
