A businessman jailed last week for his part in laundering €1.4m had to negotiate a peace deal between a criminal gang who threatened to kill Celtic Tiger socialite Marcus Sweeney.
Wesley Williams was sentenced to two-and-a-half years in prison after he pleaded guilty to his role in the bogus investment scheme carried out between 2012 and 2014.
