Kinahan quartermaster boasts in jail about secret ‘buried gold’ stash and vows to flee Ireland after new jail term

The senior cartel figure plans to leave Ireland once he completes his time in prison

KINAHAN cartel quartermaster Declan ‘Mr Nobody’ Brady has boasted of his secret stashes of gold.

Just days after the Special Criminal Court heard last week of his involvement in the killing of Noel ‘Duck Egg’ Kirwan in December 2016, Brady told fellow inmates in Dublin’s Mountjoy Prison of his hidden wealth.

In exchanges with lags and prison staff, the senior cartel figure has vowed to leave Ireland once he completes his time in prison.

He’s currently serving a sentence over the arms seizure at the Greenogue Industrial Estate and money laundering.

He’s due for release in September 2025 but he will also be hit with another sentence in April for providing support to the hit team who murdered Mr Kirwan, 62, over seven years ago.

One senior source told us: “He has been telling everyone that it’s pointless burying cash and that’s why he has gold buried at different locations.

“He’s furious that he’s going to get another sentence and is telling everyone that he will be leaving Ireland when he walks out of prison.

“Brady is adamant that his new life will involve palm trees and jet skis.

“He’s moaning because he’s been caught out again and some of the inmates are fed up listening to him.

“He’s going on about the gold but people think he is spoofing because he spent all his money when he was working for Daniel Kinahan.”

The source also said: “He’s always whining about something in the prison.

“But the other people who were caught with him over Greenogue are just getting on with prison life.

“He still has a lot of clout in the prison because of his ties to Thomas Kavanagh but that could quickly change.

“He’s a horrible individual to deal with and only cares about himself

During his time in prison, he was also disciplined for assaulting a prison officer in 2018.

Since then, he hasn’t come to the attention of the prison authorities.

A close relative of Noel Kirwan condemned his boasts about his secret gold stashes.

‘Only cared about himself’

They added: “This man has only ever cared about himself.

“It didn’t bother him in the slightest that a completely innocent man was taken from his family.

“He has never shown any remorse and deserves to spend a long time in prison.”

Our latest revelations on Brady comes after we published exclusive CCTV images of him just an hour before he was lifted by the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau over the Greenogue seizure.

In their swoop on the arms depot, Gardai discovered weapons including an AK47, an Ingram submachine gun and a Magnum revolver.

We also showed the first ever images from inside the cartel arms depot.Images included weapons being laid out on cardboard as Brady continued to pose as the head of a logistics firm.

Following his arrest, he was one of the most senior figures within the cartel to be arrested.

He had been leading a double life and regularly enjoyed holidays to Bomber Kavanagh’s plush pad in Spain.
