Four gardaí suspended and one charged in anti-corruption investigation in Dublin

Four gardaí have been suspended from duty and one member has been charged as part of an investigation into the activities of a Dublin unit.
The Garda Anti-Corruption Unit has been carrying out an investigation into the activities of a particular unit based in the Dublin region.
Four members of the gardaí have been suspended from duty since the start of the investigation.
One man, a member of An Garda Síochána, has been charged and will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice this morning.
A garda spokesperson said: “As this is an ongoing criminal investigation An Garda Síochána is making no further comment,”
